About Nike

Nike's history began in 1964, when Phil Knight, a track and field athlete, and his coach, Bill Bowerman, founded Blue Ribbon Sports with the aim of importing affordable sports shoes from Japan. In 1971, they decided to rename the company Nike, inspired by the Greek goddess of victory, and introduced the famous "Swoosh" logo, designed by Carolyn Davidson. Nike quickly became known for its innovative and quality solutions in sports equipment, introducing its first shoe with an air sole in 1978. In the 1980s, it took off with the Air Jordan series, thanks to its collaboration with legendary basketball player Michael Jordan. Today, Nike is one of the top global leaders in the field of sportswear and footwear, known for the innovation, technology and modern style of its products.
