The pioneer in the field of performance-oriented athletes, Under Armour could not stay out of the running world. It all started with the observation of Kevin Plank, the head of the University of Maryland football teams, that cotton jerseys hindered athletes' performance as they stored moisture and carried unnecessary weight. So he dedicated himself to developing technologies that would keep athletes focused on their goal by removing sweat from the body. In 1998, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland, while only in 2006 did he launch the first line of football shoes. In 2018, the presentation of UA HOVR technology was a revolution for the running world as the shock absorption and energy return provided gave runners a feeling of zero gravity to run unstoppable. Under Armour running shoes and clothing are constantly being launched and are chosen by casual runners and champions around the world.
